Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers to His Majesty Carving Knife & Fork 1901 to 1948 pre 1930? is designed for comfort and style. Featuring a lightweight and breathable material, this Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers to His Majesty Carving Knife & Fork 1901 to 1948 pre 1930? offers a classic and comfortable option for any occasion.
Joseph Rodgers & Sons carving set (missing the sharpening steel) in original box with markings from 1901 to 1948. Old style carbon steel and straight English style carving blade suggest earlier production, very possibly pre WW1.
While this is a desirable maker (some hold Rodgers as the best Sheffield maker, others Wostenholm..) the steel is missing, the knife had been hammered on spine a little and the tines of the fork are stuck. The 9” carbon steel blade is very full however and the tines of the fork nice and straight.
Often a post 1891 manufacture can be determined if the country of manufacture is present or not due to the USA’s Tarrif act. Joseph Rodgers did not oblige on all their products, many made post 1891 do not say ‘England’.
